Founders and Associates
Holly Lewis
Co-founding Partner
BSc (Hons) DipArch MArch ARB

Holly co-founded We Made That in 2006 and is a trusted voice in shaping healthy, fair and well-designed places. She cares deeply about locally-informed and impact-driven outcomes.
She is a registered architect and affiliate member of the Landscape Institute. She has led a unique range of urban projects for the practice, from pioneering industrial intensification work through to comprehensive high street regeneration projects. Holly advocates for community involvement within the design process, empowering women in the built environment and equitable city-making.
Holly is a national High Streets Task Force Expert, Mayor’s Design Advocate for the Greater London Authority and a Design Council Built Environment Expert.
She was shortlisted for the AJ Emerging Woman Architect of the Year Award 2012, is a former trustee of The Architecture Foundation and lectures internationally.

Oliver Goodhall
Co-founding Partner

Oliver co-founded We Made That in 2006 and brings focus to planning for, and delivering, meaningful economic, social and environmental change in the places that need it. He is dedicated to delivering public good, with an attention to detail in addressing strategic and complex briefs.
He has a multidisciplinary skillset with degrees in both design and architecture. He has led innovative urban scale masterplans, ambitious development frameworks and flagship cultural infrastructure projects. Oliver places great value on independent, trusted and thorough intelligence in guiding and making meaningful change.
Oliver is a member of a number of design review panels for local authorities in London and the South East. He is appointed to the Greater London Authority’s Specialist Assistance Team to help with the shaping and realisation of Mayoral projects across the capital and lectures internationally.

Nisha Kurian
Associate
BA (Hons) DipArch PGDip ARB

Nisha is an Associate at We Made That. As an architect and urbanist she has a track record of enabling community-focused, cultural and workspace projects. Her approach to architecture has a social focus, centred around harnessing local energy and knowledge and working with local communities to give them greater agency over how they use, occupy and shape their built environment.
She is a registered architect and has a significant amount of mixed-use, civic and masterplanning regeneration experience in London-based practices, including prior roles at Adam Khan Architects, Maccreanor Lavington Architects and CarverHaggard Architects. She is a powerful voice in addressing diversity and representation in the built environment sector, including as programme leader initiating RE—SET—GO, a programme with the mission of diversifying architecture practices.
Nisha is a member of the LLDC Quality Review Panel and HS2 Independent Design Panel. She is also an Associate Lecturer at Central St Martins, University of the Arts London and a regular guest critic at architecture schools across the UK. She was recognised in The Planner’s Women of Influence for 2021.

Lili Lainé
Associate
BA (Hons) MRES MSc

Lili is an Associate at We Made That. She is a geographer and urbanist with a strong interdisciplinary research background and leads the Urban Research Unit. She is interested in cities, their economies and social fabric, and the way they are governed and shaped. In her work she seeks bold and innovative responses to address contemporary urban challenges.
Lili has led and undertaken research projects to inform innovative strategies and policies on subjects spanning from culture to high street rejuvenation, places of work and social infrastructures. She has built a considerable profile of the social value of creative, cultural and community spaces across studies for regional and local authorities across the UK. She was recognised in The Planner’s Women of Influence for 2022.
Lili has a Masters degree from the Sorbonne University in Paris and has worked in academia, public sector and consultancies in the UK, in France and in Central America. She also supports the inclusion of displaced communities and refugees through voluntary work.
