London event: Who's right, what right, and where's that right?
17 November 2025
Every street corner is inscribed with seen and unseen rights. But who holds these rights, what do they look like, and where do they manifest most powerfully? These are vital questions when we speak of creating inclusive, fair places.
Join us for the launch of We Made That and Key Cities’ report on the state of spatial justice across the UK. Hear from a variety of voices in a high-energy series of provocations, as they pitch the essential ‘rights to place’ that have emerged through a year of exploration into delivering fair places. Expect sharp insights and bold, constructive ideas for local authorities, developers, consultants and community groups.
Throughout 2025, We Made That has partnered with Key Cities to examine spatial justice across the UK. From Bradford to Medway, and Exeter to Wrexham, this national collaboration of 24 cities has been an opportunity to interrogate the ‘rights to place’ - those often invisible entitlements that determine who belongs, who benefits, and who participates in shaping the built environment.
Through surveys, interviews and roundtable discussions, we have gathered perspectives from communities, practitioners and local authorities to understand how fairness and accessibility can underpin the design and governance of urban spaces. The findings culminate in this report, marking a step towards collective action for spatial inclusion.
The evening will include a series of short provocations, each pitching a vital "right to place" drawn from the research. Expect contributions from across the policy, design and civic sectors and a conversation about how these rights can inform real change for towns and cities across the UK.
We cannot do this alone, join the conversation.
