Join us! We're recruiting

11 July 2023

The We Made That team is growing. It’s an exciting time and you can join us in London or Manchester.

We have a number of projects focusing on the delivery of sustainable place shaping strategies and city regeneration schemes across the UK. We are looking for a range of new team members to work on the implementation of innovative and inclusive design approaches on these projects. Much of this work is driving super-mixing of uses in town centres, industrial intensification or city-wide infrastructure transformation.

We’re also advancing a pipeline of cultural, learning and workspace delivery projects off the back of earlier strategic work and successful public funding applications. Some of these are moving forwards to commence construction in 2024. We have both a senior role and an early career opportunity for those with a passion for delivering community-focused and sustainable built projects.

We’re particularly interested in ensuring our enlarging team draws in different lived experiences. We are a majority-female practice co-led by a woman in a male dominated industry. We value the creative potential which individuals from diverse backgrounds, and with differing skills and abilities, bring to our practice and team. We recognise that women and Black, Asian and multi-ethnic groups are still under-represented in the professions that shape it. We want to help correct the bias in who gets to shape the places we live and work in.

“We are keen to continue agitating for fairer methods of architectural practice and more influential project outcomes. As a B Corporation we are committed to evolving how the practice operates and addresses our profound economic, societal and planetary challenges. We’re searching for individuals who are also driven by this ethos.”

Our B Corporation certification in 2021 follows our clear ethical stance set out in the “Things we won’t do” list exhibited at the Royal Academy’s Radical Thoughts on Architecture in 2019; recognition as one of 25 AJ100 “Disruptor” practices; inclusion in Architects’ Journal 40 Under 40 in 2020; self-starting initiatives like the RE—SET—GO programme in 2021; and more recently building our social value maturity through Social Value Portal’s first Social Value Accelerator Programme. This shows our commitment to shaking things up and making meaningful change in the sector.
